The Election

Yesterday morning I stopped at 7-11 for a yummy cappuccino and like they did 4 years ago, 7-11 has Obama and Romney coffee cups you can choose from.  I chose the Obama cup and when I got back in the car Baylor was surprised.  He said he would not have chosen the Obama cup and that he would have chosen the "REAGAN" cup.  I told him that might be kind hard since Ronald Reagan is DEAD, which he giggled about and said, well then I guess I would vote for Obama :)

See, I knew I could make him a democrat!

Happy 4th of July

Baylor and Colby had such a good time at the Smyser Court 4th of July Party!  Baylor went crazy shooting off fireworks with Papa and watching Eric (the neighbor) shoot them off also.  During a break from the action Baylor came back and told me he couldn't wait to get back because it was so great.  He said it was so much fun because it had "Snacks...Drinks...Fireworks...and the best of all...CHAIRS!"  It was very sweet!

Baylor- The Cop

Baylor "Mom, I want to be a cop when I grow-up, or maybe in the army"
Angie "Really, I think you would be a cop because you are a good person, but those jobs are kind of dangerous"
Baylor "Don't worry Mom...I am really good at tag"

Do you think the bad guys will stop running if he tells them to freeze like in freeze tag????

Swim team

Baylor is not sure if he wants to try out for the swim team this summer, because in his words, he just doesn't want to wear one of the "black tightie whities"... I think he was referring to a speedo :)

Happy Birthday Colby!

Baylor and I woke Colby up this morning singing Happy Birthday, and his first reaction was to lay back down and say "NO"...  Wait...that is how I feel on my birthdays!  But once he was awake he went with Baylor and wanted to open one of his presents, that's my boy!

I was watching Baylor and Colby be silly at breakfast, and of course, I got teary-eyed (WHY DOES THAT SEEM TO HAPPEN NOW!).  OKAY, I might get a little mushy now, so if mushy make you sick look away NOW :).

I started to think about how nervous Don and I were two years ago that after all of the ups and downs of the last 5 or so years that we would meet our little baby, and how we just hoped that despite his early arrival that he would healthy!  I think what Colby lacked in the beginning he is making up for now!

As I look at our feisty, and I mean feisty, 2 year old, I am so thankful that he came into our life!  After a LONG wait, our little family is complete and he has made us better people!  He has made me a little more relaxed, he has made Don a little more silly, and he has made Baylor a WONDERFUL big brother who has taken on additional responsibilities and is growing up very quickly now.  OK, I will stop because now I am teary again... good grief!

Below are some pictures from Colby's last two years!  As the lady at Target once called Colby.. "the TINIEST baby in the world" is growing up!

Old Nana

We were at dinner and we were talking about how nice it will be next year since Nana will be retired.  Baylor then wanted to know where Nana would be living?  We asked why, he said he thought because she was retiring that she would have to live at a retirement home!

Poor old Nana :)

Jesus and Christopher Columbus??

Last night Baylor was not too thrilled about going to church and was pleading his case.  He told me that he already knew a lot about church, and that he knew all about Jesus and Christopher Columbus??  I said Christopher Columbus?  And his answer was, "well you know all those people in the bible, like John, and Mark and Christopher Columbus"???

Maybe it is a good thing that he is attending church weekly!!

He also informed that all they talked about in church was feelings and church stuff, and then he said "You know Mom, it is not like I am Dr. Phil".

Sigh....
